The 2022 Walnut Festival is coming right up in two weeks on October 1st. During the day, there are going to be three contests that the Chamber of Commerce is having: baking, woodworking, and pumpkin carving.

Baking

The first contest is a baking contest. There are three categories one can enter: quick bread/cookies, candy/fudge, and cakes/pies. Entries must have walnuts in them and must be submitted at the Chamber booth by 10:00 am. All entries must also have the recipe when submitted.

Woodworking

Another contest is the woodworking contest. The two categories are furniture and toys.

Pumpkin Carving

The final contest is the pumpkin carving contest. That will be right on the square starting at 9:30 am. There are two age categories are 5-8 year olds and 9-12 year olds.. Supplies will be furnished to the carvers. It is first come, first serve. The pumpkin must be carved by 11:00 am so they can be judged. First, second, and third for both categories will get prizes.

Other Rules

The baking and woodworking entries need to be brought in early in the morning to the Chamber booth so they can be judged. Between 12:30 and 1:00, the winners will be announced.
