One of the loudest arguments for legalizing abortions is to save the mother’s life. When Roe V. Wade was overturned, planned parenthood screamed that millions of women would die. Truth be told, not a single life has been lost due to Not having an abortion. In actuality, the lives of mothers and their unborn children have all been rescued.
Are All Abortions Banned?
In a nutshell, No. When listening to mainstream media, one would believe that if a woman’s life were at risk, she would die because she could not get an abortion. That is totally false. Even the most stringent state laws governing abortion allow for exclusions in the mother’s life. Each state permits abortion in rare circumstances when it is necessary to save the life of a pregnant woman.
Texas Example
The Texas heartbeat law has been in effect for almost two years, and no one has died. Instead, research suggests tens of thousands of babies’ lives have been saved. Research by Michael New, Ph.D., an assistant professor of practice at The Catholic University of America, estimates the Texas heartbeat law saved at least 5,000 babies in just four months.
Texas is not the only state to ban abortions. Since the Supreme Court’s overruling, 13 additional states have made laws making killing babies in the womb illegal.
