On October 25, 2023, members of Congress voted on whether or not Representative Mike Johnson from Louisiana should be the new Speaker of the House. Smith voted for Johnson, who is now the new Speaker of the House.

Resolution 771

House Resolution 771 says that the “House of Representatives stands with Israel as it defends itself against the barbaric war launched by Hamas and other terrorists.” [1] Representative Smith voted for this resolution, and the resolution was agreed to.

HR 4394

House Bill 4394 rolls back administrative overreach currently obstructing domestic energy dominance and cuts wasteful spending in the industry, among other things. The bill passed and Smith voted for it.
