On February 12, 2021, Representative Smith sent a news release condemning the impeachment process by the Senate. He gave a brief synapse alongside his personal viewpoint, which people watching the media do not usually get.

Legality Of Impeachment

The U.S. Constitution spells out the reason for impeachment, which is removing a president, vice-president, or civil officer from office [1]. President Trump was already out of office. Impeachment is not to punish private citizens. That is unconstitutional.

Purpose Of Impeachment Trial

Jason Smith summed this process up by saying,

This trial distracted from President Biden’s radical executive orders.

As Representative Smith says regarding the impeachment process, “The plot is known, the outcome guaranteed, and the emotions are forced with bad acting. [2]” Both of Missouri’s senators, Blunt and Hawley, voted to declare the trial unconstitutional. The Democrats designed this show trial to unite Democrats against Trump and conservatives. It was an attempt to train the populace what to think.

Additional Summary

Representative Smith concluded with this,

Under Joe Biden’s administration, the beliefs of rural America and southern Missouri do not matter because Washington Democrats know what is best for you [3].
