The Bible Reading Marathon took place from April 26-30, 2025, on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. Hundreds of people gather at the nation’s capitol as well as state capitols to read the Bible.

The Goal

The goal of the Bible Reading Marathon is to read the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation in 90 hours. Currently, the Bible Reading Marathon happens at our nation’s Capitol in Washington, D.C., but it also occurs at the Indiana, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, and West Virginia state capitols. The Bible Reading Marathon is an annual event.

History

The Bible Reading Marathon was founded in 1990 by Dr. John Hash and Dr. Corinthia Boone. In 1994, the leadership was passed to Pastor Michael Hall and his wife Terry. Since 2019, Keith Davidson has been in charge of the Bible Reading Marathon. [1]

Comments

Keith Davidson told The Christian Post, “Our goal is to bring attention back to our legislators, of course, and to get the attention back on the word of God. And then for [legislators] to remember that’s where our nation’s foundation is at, and also, for people who are reading, to let them publicly express their faith.” [2]
