Thayer, Mo. – The city of Thayer has canceled the Spring Cleanup scheduled for this week. Out of respect and support of Missouri’s COVID-19 stay-at-home order, the city canceled it. The city is trying to follow the guidelines the Governor and the Director of Health and Senior Services set forth. The city’s goal is to lessen the spread of the virus.

What Gets Picked Up?

The Thayer spring cleanup is an annual event. Residents anticipate this week as a time to clean out their homes. Local people with excess trash and items not normally picked up on trash day can put these items out on the curb. These items will be picked up on the resident’s regular trash day. They cannot take TVs, microwaves, computers, tires, or paint. However, to maximize social distancing, the city sadly canceled this year’s event.
